Short & Long Term Disability Cases We’ve Won for Our Clients Against The Hartford
Fields Law Firm successfully recovers millions of dollars each year for our disabled clients throughout the United States. Our Long Term Disability experience is matched by very few other law firms in the country and has earned us a national reputation.
Here are just a few examples of our Long Term Disability appeal case wins against The Hartford.
Carrie – Community Manager – Seaford, Delaware
Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynaud’s Disease
A community manager from Delaware could no longer work due to her debilitating lupus, fibromyalgia and Raynaud’s Disease. Initially, she was approved for Long Term Disability, which she received for several months. Then, The Hartford abruptly terminated her benefits.
Concerned about her financial stability, she reached out to Fields Law for assistance. The Fields team appealed the termination with significant evidence supporting our client’s disability claim, including medical records and testimonies from her physicians. The appeal was successful and The Hartford reinstated our clients future benefits and sent her all of the backpay she was owed from the date of termination.
Benita – FC Associate – Crown Point, Indiana
Chronic Back Pain, Radiculopathy, Spondylolisthesis
An FC Associate from Indiana stopped working due her disabling conditions, including chronic back pain, radiculopathy and spondylolisthesis. She applied for Long Term Disability benefits but was denied when The Hartford determined that she was capable of working full-time in another regular occupation.
She contacted Fields Law for help. The attorneys at Fields Law reviewed the insurer’s claim file, gathered doctor’s records and reports and drafted an appeal. In response, The Hartford overturned their prior determination and approved her claim, resulting in a lump-sum payment and ongoing benefits.
Darcell – RPO Specialist – Hammond, Indiana
Degenerative Disc Disease, Diabetes, Neuropathy, Hypertension
An RPO specialist from Indiana was forced out of work due to degenerative disc disease and diabetic neuropathy. She underwent several surgeries on her spine, but nothing helped get her pain fully under control. She was initially approved by The Hartford for Long Term Disability benefits, but after only a few months her payments were terminated.
Needing help to appeal the termination, she turned to Fields Law. Our team gathered her medical records and arranged for a functional capacity evaluation which supported her inability to work. The Hartford then reversed the decision and approved our client for ongoing Long Term Disability benefits and a lump sum payment for the benefits owed to her.
