The Hartford initially approved Long Term Disability benefits, and those benefits remained in place for 18 years. Then, without warning after nearly two decades of support, the insurance company terminated benefits, immediately placing the client’s financial stability at risk.

While the decision was pending, our client’s symptoms worsened, and a fall resulted in a fatal head injury. Fields continued pursuing the benefits owed and filed a second appeal that identified errors in the insurer’s prior review and presented the medical record in a direct, organized manner. The Hartford ultimately approved benefits through the date of death, and the claim was paid as required under the policy.
