Thomas Olson, Attorney

Thomas Olson is originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico but has made the Twin Cities home since 2013. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA where he majored in Sociology and competed on the men’s varsity swim team and won multiple conference championships.
Tom continued his education when he attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law on the weekend where he obtained his Juris Doctor and Certificate in Law and Business. Tom was an active member in the Student Bar Association and Federal Bar Association.
While going to law school, Tom worked as consultant nationwide to manufacturing, logistic and warehousing, mining, and heavy industrial firms in need of contingent workforces. In this role, he assisted the national safety director and in-house counsel in ensuring that his client’s contingent workforce complied with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Fields Law Firm, Tom worked in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District as a law clerk and volunteered his legal expertise at Washington County Community Circles—a restorative justice program for non-violent felons.
Tom currently practices in Workers’ Compensation and Long Term Disability law, where he assists his clients in finding practical solutions to their legal issues by ensuring he understands the goals of his clients and his clients understand their options before moving forward. Tom feels his success comes from his client’s trust in his understanding of their individual challenges and in his plan for confronting their legal issues.
Mr. Olson is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Minnesota and Minnesota State courts. He is also a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
