A clinical trials manager in Maryland developed disabling PTSD, anxiety, and depression that made it impossible to continue working. Although Long Term Disability benefits were initially approved through Principal, the insurer later terminated benefits after only several months, despite no improvement in the documented conditions.
Fields Law attorneys moved quickly to challenge the termination through an administrative appeal, building a detailed record that included extensive medical documentation, treating physician support, and other key evidence. After the appeal submission demonstrated ongoing functional impairment and continued disability, Principal reversed its decision, reinstated Long Term Disability benefits, and issued full back pay dating to the original termination.
